Corporate hotel rates are prices negotiated for an organization's eligible travelers. Enter its code when booking, then compare the available rate with the hotel's member rate and third-party offers, including breakfast and cancellation terms.
Get the code and its eligibility rules from your employer's travel team. A search result alone does not establish that you qualify: Marriott says unauthorized code use or missing identification can lead to a different rate at check-in.
Compare the same stay
Use one hotel, identical dates, room type and guest count, and the same currency. The table below shows what to compare; it does not quote prices for a particular stay.
Swipe the table to see all columns.
| What matters | Corporate rate booked directly | Hotel's direct member rate | Third-party booking platform |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total cost | Use the offered total, including tax and mandatory fees. | Compare the total shown after signing in. | Include platform charges and any amounts payable at the hotel. |
| Breakfast | Read the agreement and selected rate: how many guests and which days are included? | Check the room package and any breakfast benefit you qualify for. | Check the exact meal plan included in that listing. |
| Points and status nights | Marriott lists negotiated corporate rates as qualifying, subject to its program rules. | Check earning and stay eligibility under the hotel's program. | Standard OTA bookings do not qualify under Marriott's rules. |
| Member benefits | On qualifying Marriott stays, benefits follow your tier and the property's participation. | Your tier and the property's rules determine the benefits. | Do not count on hotel loyalty benefits being included. |
| Cancellation and payment | Read the deadline, penalty, deposit and prepayment terms. | Check whether you selected a flexible or prepaid offer. | Read the platform's displayed refund terms and payment schedule. |
The Marriott examples follow its Bonvoy terms, sections 2.1.d to 2.1.f. Other brands and specially approved booking channels can have different rules.
Breakfast can change which rate is better
You do not need an elite breakfast benefit to use breakfast included in your booked room package. For example, Marriott advertises a Stay for Breakfast package with breakfast for two. That is a package inclusion; it does not establish that every corporate rate includes breakfast. Check the number of guests covered and any spending limit.
Add only the extras you would actually buy to each option's total. If a cheaper room excludes breakfast you want, include that cost before choosing. If your plans may change, compare the cancellation penalty as well. Keep the selected rate's conditions with your confirmation so you can check the bill against what you booked.
