Do IHG Corporate Rates Include Breakfast?

By HotelCorporateCodes · Published

An IHG Corporate ID alone does not guarantee breakfast. Check the selected rate or package, the hotel's breakfast offering, and any eligible personal IHG One Rewards benefit, including how many guests it covers.

Start with the breakfast wording for your actual reservation. A package inclusion, a hotel's usual offering and a member's breakfast choice have different conditions.

A business package may cover only one person

Holiday Inn Manhattan 6th Ave - Chelsea's page advertises a Business Boost package with breakfast for one. It is a useful example of why the covered guest count matters. It does not establish breakfast terms for another hotel or your employer's negotiated rate.

The advertised package was not checked for availability on particular dates. Read the conditions of the rate you select rather than assuming the hotel's package description applies to every booking there.

Check the specific hotel and brand

Holiday Inn Express's group travel page advertises complimentary breakfast for teams and groups. That is a Holiday Inn Express offering, not a rule for all IHG brands. A Holiday Inn example and a Holiday Inn Express example therefore need separate checks.

If the chosen hotel's breakfast is already included in your stay, the Corporate ID may not be the reason you receive it. Check the hotel's current breakfast information alongside your reservation conditions.

Diamond breakfast is a separate personal benefit

IHG's customer-care FAQ describes the Diamond Elite option to choose daily hot breakfast as the Welcome Amenity at check-in for the member and one guest registered to the same room, at specified participating brands.

The full benefit terms limit the amenity choice to Qualified Stays and make it non-transferable. Some properties and menu items are excluded; in-room dining and specialty restaurants are not covered by this breakfast choice. Do not assume it covers every occupant or another room.

Those terms also say members using Digital Check-in may only receive points as their Welcome Amenity. If you plan to use the breakfast choice, confirm it with the hotel before digital check-in.

IHG's membership terms say most benefits require specified booking channels, and the member must personally check in and stay to receive in-hotel benefits. Ask whether your particular company booking meets the applicable conditions; a company identifier alone does not settle that question.

Confirm the covered guests before booking

Ask the hotel's reservations team or your authorized company travel team:

For this rate, hotel and these dates, which registered guests receive breakfast, on which mornings and at which venue? Is it included in the room rate, provided by a member benefit or charged separately? What is the charge for any guest who is not covered?

Keep the written answer with the rate conditions and confirmation. To apply an authorized Corporate ID, follow the IHG app booking steps.

When comparing a company rate with a breakfast package, match the hotel, dates, room type, guest count and cancellation conditions. Compare the full stay cost, adding any breakfast that the selected option does not cover.
