Can You Use an Enterprise Corporate Code for Personal Travel?

By HotelCorporateCodes · Published

You can use an Enterprise corporate code for personal travel only when your company's agreement allows it. Get the approved leisure booking details, then check the rental terms: a discounted rate does not establish damage waiver or liability protection.

Ask your travel management team for the approved personal booking details. Enterprise's business rental page directs travelers to that team for missing account numbers.

Why the trip type matters

An Enterprise-hosted TVA program document illustrates the distinction. It lists a personal-use route for employees and contractors, while its business rentals include damage waiver and liability protection that do not carry over to personal rentals. This is a named US program example with no verified revision date. Use your employer's current agreement for your own trip.

Three checks before a personal rental: confirm permission, get the approved booking details, and check protection, drivers and payment.

If the reservation shows business terms

Tell the pickup branch and your travel team that the trip is personal. Ask them to confirm the correct account and the terms attached to your reservation before pickup:

For my personal rental at [branch] on [dates], which account should I use? Does this reservation include damage waiver or liability protection, and which drivers and payment method are permitted?

Keep their confirmation and compare it with the rental agreement before signing. If they differ, ask the branch to resolve the mismatch. Our guide to corporate rental insurance explains what the protection labels mean.
