Can You Use Hilton Points With a Corporate Rate?

By HotelCorporateCodes · Published

Usually, no. Hilton Honors Rewards generally cannot be combined with discounts, so compare an authorized corporate cash quote with a separate Reward Stay quote. A written Hilton Honors exception may apply.

Compare two quotes for the same stay

Hilton's corporate-rate instructions use an authorized Corporate Account number under Special Rates. Its points instructions use a separate Reward Stay search. The Hilton Honors terms say Rewards generally cannot be combined with discounts, certificates, packages or promotions unless Hilton Honors specifies an exception in writing. That means you should not assume points will reduce the negotiated corporate cash price.

How to make a fair comparison

  1. Search the exact hotel, dates, room type and guest count with the Corporate Account number you are authorized to use. Hilton documents this under Special Rates.
  2. Run a separate signed-in search and select Use Points & Money. Hilton's points-booking guide describes a slider for choosing the points and cash mix. It does not say the cash side is your corporate quote.
  3. Compare the complete cost and rules. Reward availability varies by hotel and dates; a corporate room does not guarantee reward inventory.

Points & Money is a Reward Stay, even though part of it is paid in cash. Hilton says eligible spending on the cash portion can earn points. That is different from applying points to the corporate price.

If you already booked the corporate rate

First check reward availability without changing the reservation. Read its cancellation rules in Hilton's cancellation help, plus any deposit, prepayment and no-show terms in the confirmation. Hilton says cancellation rules depend on the selected rate, dates and hotel. Its points guide says points cannot upgrade an existing reservation, but does not establish a universal cash-to-points conversion process.

Keep the cash booking until a reward option is confirmed. Ask Hilton or the original booking provider whether it can be changed or needs rebooking, and review cancellation cost first. Under the Hilton Honors terms, a qualifying corporate cash stay may earn points, but earning points does not make the corporate price redeemable with points.
